UPDATE: The Abilene Police Department is actively looking for 35-year-old Brack Earl Daniels who has been identified as a Person of Interest in this investigation. The incident is still under investigation. UPDATE: Police are no longer seeking Brack Earl Daniels as a person of interest in the case. According to a press release, the suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Arthur Jesse Gallegoz of Abilene.
UPDATE: An arrest has been made in this investigation. No further information has been released. Gallegoz is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on a bond of $250,000. The altercation led to the siblings rushing up the stairs and continuing the argument, leading to the shooting. Messer is also being treated for her injuries.įurther investigation revealed that the verbal altercation started with Destiny Gallegoz, Arthur's sister, who was arguing on a lower level of the apartment complex with Delacruz. Two others involved, Derrick Compton and Catrina Messer, were injured.ĭelacruz was rushed to a local hospital where he died of his injuries, Compton was transported to a hospital in Fort Worth, and is said to be in critical condition, suffering from what appears to be life-threatening conditions. Delacruz attempted to retreat into his apartment, when Gallegoz shot through the door multiple times, leading to his death. According to court documents, Arthur Gallegoz had gotten into a verbal argument with the residents of apartment 202, which led to him advancing on the residents while they were standing on the balcony of the second floor, shooting in their direction.
